§ Legal — Terms

Terms & Policies.

The plain-language rules for using this site and ordering from the catalog — including how shipping and returns work.

These Terms & Policies (“Terms”) govern your use of the Evolved Academics website at www.evolvedacademics.com and any purchase you make from our store. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you have any questions, write to us at steven.swanson@evolvedacademics.com — a human reads every message.

i. Orders & Payment

Card payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Approved institutional purchase orders are invoiced separately. Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and may change at any time; the price confirmed at checkout or on an accepted quote is the price you pay. We reserve the right to cancel and refund an order if an item is unavailable or a price was listed in error.

ii. School & District Purchase Orders

Purchase-order terms are available only to approved U.S. schools, districts, colleges, government agencies, and other qualifying institutions. Net 30 is standard. Net 45 is available only when it is stated on the official purchase order and approved by Evolved Academics before fulfillment.

An order is not accepted until we confirm the authorized PO, billing and shipping details, price, shipping charges, tax status, availability, and payment terms in writing. We may request a tax-exemption certificate, vendor form, or other purchasing documentation. Invoices are issued when the order ships and are due according to the approved terms.

iii. Shipping

Shipping is included in the price for the continental United States. There is no separate shipping charge at checkout for the 48 contiguous states.

For Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories, email us before ordering and we will confirm the freight cost first.

Orders ship from California. We are a one-person studio, so orders are typically packed and handed to the carrier within 3–5 business days. Card customers receive a receipt from Stripe when payment is processed. Purchase-order customers receive an invoice.

Custom-branded class sets require artwork review and a custom board production run. Please allow four additional weeks before shipping. That added lead time is shown on the product page and at checkout.

If your order seems delayed or arrives damaged, email us and we will make it right.

iv. Returns & Refunds

If a kit isn’t working out, you may return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price, provided the kit is unused and in its original packaging. Return postage is the customer’s responsibility. Email steven.swanson@evolvedacademics.com to arrange a return; refunds are issued to the original payment method once the item is received.

Kits that arrive defective, damaged, or missing parts are replaced at no cost to you — no need to ship anything back.

v. Classroom & Safety Notice

Our kits are designed for classroom use under adult supervision. Soldering involves heated tools and small parts; kits are intended for students in grades 6–12 working with an instructor or supervising adult who follows standard safety practices (ventilation, eye protection, and heat-safe work surfaces). Kits are not toys and are not intended for children under 13 without direct adult supervision.

vi. Intellectual Property

The content of this site — text, design, illustrations, and product documentation — belongs to Evolved Academics LLC. Teachers are welcome to print and use included kit instructions in their own classrooms; please don’t resell or republish them.

vii. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The site and products are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Evolved Academics LLC disclaims all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, and our total liability for any claim arising from a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the product. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.

viii. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

ix. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date above will reflect the latest revision.
