A teacher’s workbench that turned into a company.

Evolved Academics LLC makes two kinds of classroom tools: something students hold and solder, and something teachers run on a laptop. Both were built for one real classroom before they were sold to anyone else’s.

The founder

Steven Swanson

Founder, and a working classroom teacher in California.

Everything here comes out of the same job. ClassLens began in 2024, because grading kept swallowing Sunday nights and the feedback students actually got back was shorter than it should have been. Magic Conch began because a first soldering project should end with a student holding something that works, not a bag of parts and a worksheet about circuits.

This is a small operation. The design work, the board layout, the lesson materials, the packing, and the email replies all pass through one workbench. That is a limit worth stating plainly: lead times are honest, and support comes from the person who made the thing.
